Organic carrots are easy to grow in your Harvest to Home garden. Simply sit back and watch them grow till they are large enough to harvest and eat. You can check the size of the carrot roots by placing your finger into the soil near the plant and feeling the size of the carrot. Once they feel large enough to your liking (7-12 inches) simply pull entire plant from the box, wash and enjoy! Essential Oil is recommended on the green leaves of the carrot plant.
Carrots were probably first developed in Afghanistan. The familiar orange versions were selected from yellow ones in the Netherlands around 1600. Sweet and crisp carrots are very high in beta-carotene and make a tasty treat for children.
Best site: In a sunny location in cooler weather. Not shaded by taller plants.
Pruning and training: Remove dead leaves.
Time to harvest: Harvest in 6 to 8 weeks.
Harvest: Harvest the root when it is to the size you desire. Make sure it is at least finger size.
